Local area description

A former industrial area come good, West Melbourne is as close to the CBD as you can get without being in it. Known for the famed Queen Victoria Market, the city’s favourite destination for gourmet ingredients, it’s also home to an increasing number of trendy cafes. The city is right on the doorstep, plus excellent transport infrastructure and lots of green space.

Public transport
Trams east into the city and south to Docklands leave on the corner of Spencer and La Trobe, one block away. Trains to the city and suburbs leave from Flagstaff Station a five-minute walk.

Ride sharing apps are a safe and easy way to get around, especially later at night when public transport services are less frequent. Prices are about two-thirds that of taking a taxi, but may surge during bad weather or public events.
